Guida: Fast File Renamer – C# in Visual Studio

Ecco una guida, scritta sempre da me, su come creare un programma che rinomini velocemente tutti i file di una cartella!
Come sempre, userò C# e Visual Studio 2015.

Molte volte capita di dover rinominare tanti file in modo tale che contengano una stessa parola, o frase. Ad esempio le persone fissate con l’ordine, come me, vorranno che tutte le canzoni salvate nel proprio pc abbiano un nome nel formato “NomeCanzone – NomeGruppo” o qualcosa del genere. Quando si devono rinominare le canzoni di un intero album o, peggio ancora, di una discografia è uno strazio, dal momento che bisogna rinominare i file uno ad uno.
Dunque ecco che potrebbe rendersi utile questo semplice programma in grado di visualizzare i nomi di tutti i file contenuti in una cartella e di rinominarli contemporaneamente.

Iniziamo creando il nostro progetto su Visual Studio. Creiamo il nostro Form1 in modo tale che abbia più o meno questo aspetto e questi componenti.

Cattura

Selezioniamo la textBox Directory e impostiamo la prorietà “Enabled” su “False”, così che il contenuto potrà essere modificato soltanto tramite il tasto “Sfoglia…”.
Selezioniamo il Panel contenuto nella nostra groupBox Files, e settiamo la proprietà “AutoScroll” su “True”.
Questo ci servirà per lasciare gestire al Panel la barra di scrolling laterale.
Selezionate la textBox dentro il Panel e appuntatevi da qualche parte il valore delle proprietà “Size” e “Location”.
Adesso potete eliminare sia questa textBox che la barra verticale alla sinistra del Panel.

Aggiungiamo un componente “FolderBrowserDialog” e terminiamo così la progettazione del Form.

Passando al codice, iniziamo creando tre variabili globali:

TextBox[] tbFiles;

“y” sarà la variabile che controllerà la posizione delle varie textBox che andremo a creare nel Panel.
“files” conterrà tutte le path dei file presenti nella cartella selezionata.
tbFiles conterrà tutte le textBox che creeremo dentro il Panel.

Creiamo inoltre una funzione che ci permetta di creare una nuova textBox dentro il Panel. Ogni textBox avrà il nome di un file della directory che verrà selezionata. Ci saranno tante textBox quanti i file nella cartella, ed ogni textBox sarà distanziata dalla precedente di 26 pixel. Alla fine questa funzione dovrà ritornare la textBox appena creata.

Passiamo adesso all’evento che gestirà il clic sul bottone “Sfoglia…”.
Innanzitutto dovrà controllare se già sono state textBox dentro Panel. Se si, dovrà eliminarle tutte e svuotare le variabili “files” e “tbFiles”. Dovrà poi impostare la variabile y alla posizione da cui inizieranno ad essere create le textBox (Si consiglia di settarla a 3 in questo punto).
Adesso bisogna richiamare il componente folderBrowserDialog in modo tale che faccia selezionare una cartella. Una volta selezionata una cartella, nella textBox “Directory” verrà mostrato l’intero indirizzo della cartella selezionata. Bisogna inoltre che alla variabile files vengano assegnati gli indirizzi di tutti i file della cartella.
Inizializziamo dunque l’array “tbFiles” con tanti elementi quanti ne ha “files”. Per ogni elemento in tbFiles otteniamo le informazioni del file relativo nell’array “files”. Infine basterà assegnare a tbFiles una nuova textBox create tramite la funzione scritta prima.

            tbFiles[i] = addTextBoxtoPanel(f.Name);
        }
    }
}

In questo modo se all’indice 0 di “files” abbiamo l’indirizzo al file “esempio.txt”, all’indice 0 di tbFiles avremo la textBox che conterrà il nome del file “esempio.txt”.

A questo punto i file possono già essere rinominati nelle varie textBox contenute nel Panel, ma queste modifiche non saranno effettive. Dobbiamo dunque fare doppio clic sul pulsante “Rinomina Tutti” per creare l’evento del clic sul tasto.

Questo tasto non farà altro che rinominare tutti i file contenuti in “files” con il rispettivo nome scritto nelle textBox dentro il Panel. Inoltre dovrà aggiornare tali textBox, perchè l’ordine di come i file vengono trovati dal comando “Directory.GetFiles” potrebbe cambiare.

A questo punto il nostro programma è pronto!

E’ molto importante tenere conto del fatto che l’estensione non va modificata nella textBox relativa al file (A meno che non si voglia intenzionalmente).
Come al solito questo è soltanto un “esempio fast”, dunque non implementa tutte le funzioni che potrebbero essere implementate. Ad esempio sarebbe utile, per ogni file, avere due textBox separate: una per il nome e l’altra per l’estensione. In questo modo si renderebbe ancora più veloce il rinominare tutti i file, senza dover stare attenti nell’evitare di modificare l’estensione per sbaglio.
